How to Apply
COMPANY SIZE AND LONGEVITY
The Company must meet both of the following criteria:
- Have been in business for 5 years or more as of December 31, 2020 (cut-off founding date is
- Have had verifiable revenues of $250,000 or more for calendar year 2018.
The Company must meet one or more of the three criteria below to be eligible.
A Texas A&M University former student (or group of former students):
- Must have founded the company and been active as a member of the most senior management
team from January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2020
- Must have owned 50% or more of the company from January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2020
- Must have served as the Company’s chief executive (for example chairman, CEO, president or managing partner) from January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2020.
THE SUMMIT AWARD
In 2012, the Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship (now known as McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship) introduced a new award, the Summit Award, which is presented to the Aggie company with the highest 3-year average revenue. Minimum Qualifications for the Summit Award are the same as the Aggie 100, as outlined above. The average revenue will be calculated as a simple average of sales/revenues (net of returns) for 2018, 2019 and 2020. A company need not make the Aggie 100 list for growth to be presented with the Summit Award. Past Summit Award recipients are not eligible. The company which is awarded the Summit Award will be expected to sign a disclosure agreement permitting their average revenue number to become publicly disclosed.
Aggie 100 Timeline
Step 1: All companies must be nominated. The nomination period runs year-round. Nominations are open for the 2021 Aggie 100.
Step 2: Once the application period opens, all nominated companies will receive details on how to submit their company application. The 2021 Aggie 100 application period is open from May 7, 2021, until June 16, 2021. The application form is fairly simple and only requires you to answer a few questions and attach documentation to verify revenues. Step 3: All companies that complete the application process will be notified by email by late-August so that they may make plans to be on campus in the Fall for all recognition activities. The full list will not be released until the Awards Dinner. All companies are asked to keep the information confidential until the Fall celebration.
Step 4: Companies named to the Aggie 100 list will be required to submit company and Aggie Honoree information by mid-September to be included in all materials.
Step 5: Those companies named to the Aggie 100 list will have the opportunity to invite guests to the Awards Dinner each year. Deadlines for those ticket/table purchases are in October each year.
Step 6: Aggie 100 Awards Dinner & Celebration Events will be hosted each fall in honor of the success of all Aggie 100 companies. The list will be made public at this time.
Nominations are now open for the 2021 Aggie 100. Companies nominated for Aggie 100 will be automatically notified when applications are available in the summer of 2021. Self-nominations are accepted and encouraged. Anyone can nominate a company.
If you know of an Aggie-owned or Aggie-led business that you think meets the criteria, don’t hesitate to submit a nomination for them! Nominees will receive an application packet and can choose whether or not they will apply. There is no harm in nominating them for the process.
